EmmaT Eulerian Profiler

EMMA-T is a high accuracy temperature profiler, developed in partnership with Ifremer.

Eulerian profiler (fixed point profiler), it allows :

• Pressure and temperature measurement in the water column.
• Measures down to a depth of 6000m.
• Monitoring of specific areas over 2 years (strong currents, straits).
• Data retrieval via satellite.

EMMA-T advantages :

• The use of several EMMA-T systems at a single point allows time sampling of the water column.
• The use of several EMMA-T systems as a network allows space & time sampling of the water masses.
• It only requires one deployment campaign every 2 years.
• It is easily deployed from a ship of opportunity.
• Its surfacing at a preset time is automatic.
• The data transmission when the profiler reaches the surface allows an operational follow up of the water masses.

• Temperature measurement : Range -2°C +35°C Resolution 0.5m°C at 6°C Accuracy 3m°C from 0 to 10°C.
• Pressure measurement : Range 624 bars Resolution 0.15 bar.
• Programming from a PC-based software via radio link.
• Compressed data transmission via Argos.
• Energy autonomy for 6 days of transfer after 2 years stationed within the water column.
• Overall dimensions 60cm * 20cm.
• Weight in air 2.3kg.
