SC 40, SC 40G drifting Buoy SVP

The marking buoys SC 40 and SC40 G are ocean drifter using the ARGOS satellites for data collection and positioning

Thanks to its low cost, it is used for oceanographic experiments as a current sensor and are fitted with a drogue, “Holey socks” type ( in option )

SC 40 buoy measures and transmits the water temperature at the surface of the ocean at each transmission with an electrical autonomy of one year.

SC 40 G is fitted with a GPS receiver activated at regular time (15-20-30 60 or 120 minutes) memorized positions constitute a queue of position transmitted to ARGOS satellite in order to constitute a regulated trace.

A seawater switch enables the detection of the drogue, by transmitting the ratio of the immerged versus emerged duration.
