PROVOR CTS 3 ( ARGO profiler )

It complies with ARGO program recommendations. The PROVOR CTS3 performs 100 CTD set of data by using highly accurate sensors, during parking and ascent. When surfacing data are transmitted through ARGOS system.

PROVOR CTS3 has for feature a wide volume variation capability, it is self ballasted. It can be deployed where sea water present high-density gradients without pre ballasting operation. PROVOR CTS3 is fantail ready, able to be launched in all seas by removing a magnet.

PROVOR CTS3 is reliable with an optimized cost, several hundreds have been produced and have given good results at sea.

PROVOR CTS3 can be launched from any vessel at low speed using only a rope and from a high-speed vessel (20 knots tested) by using release kit and launching crate.

Electrical autonomy is computed for 250 cycles including 10 days drift and profile from 2000 meters and acquisition and transmission of 100 CTD triplets. During pop up CTD pump is continuously activated. Exception of incident typical life time at sea is 5 years Fully ARGO compliant Self ballasted float Autonomy for up to 250 profiles (2000 meters depth) 5 years of autonomy with 10 days cycles (autonomy will be higher with CTD pump in switched mode)

PROVOR has been developed in partnership with IFREMER IFREMER , is the French institute for sea research
